Fromm Players at Harvard

The Fromm Players at Harvard, a professional ensemble dedicated to the performance of contemporary music, play works organized around a strong theme that add something unique to new music in Boston. They are curated by a faculty member of the Harvard Department of Music. Presenting two concerts a  year, each year's curator and performers are different, and each year the concerts focus on a new area of work.  Read about the history of the Fromm Players at Harvard.

 

This year’s performance, Perle Noire: Meditations for Joséphine, will take place May 3, 2019 at 10 p.m. at Oberon (2 Arrow Street, Cambridge). Perle Noire is a unique evening honoring the brilliance, daring, public courage and private tragedies of Joséphine Baker. Conceived by Peter Sellars, this tour-de- force features soprano Julia Bullock, with original music by Tyshawn Sorey and texts by Claudia Rankine. Performed by International Contemporary Ensemble.
